Outside, the small barn dating from the early 90s in West Flanders, Belgium, remains true to the original. But inside, the visual now is another: instead of hay and agricultural materials, the interior accommodates a brand new, minimalist and functional office. The architects of Studio Farris turned the space of 100 m² for the owner, who lives next door, could enjoy the comfort of working from home.
Using concrete and wood, they desfragmentaram the old layout arranged on two floors, creating a more airy office, able to take advantage of all the available daylight and create diverse environments. Blocks and wooden beams overlapping setorizam library, desks, reading areas and rest and meeting room without losing the integration and full office vision.
The overlay material also creates a staircase, which gives access to the mezzanine. Skylights and large glass doors let all bright and frame the visual countryside surroundings.
